May 2011 Wedding of Alisa Lai to Samuel Lee
It was a beautiful sunny day when Alisa Lai, the last of our autumn 2011
brides arrived with her proud father Alfred Lai, for her midday wedding
to Samuel Lee.
They were greeted by a very organised Father Paul Coleman
SJ who was extremely busy with a full to capacity Chapel and guests who
had flown in from all over the world.
The bride in a silk organza dress
with lace embroidery and long organza veil walked down the aisle to the
sweet sounds of a Tallowood Harp and organ music.
The colour theme for the wedding was purple with beautiful orchids and
lisianthes decorating the altar and benches. The bridesmaids were dressed
in purple silk too.
A point of interest: The magnificent Mass Cruets which were the gift of a Family in France long
ago, and are inscribed “In Memory of the Families of Blanc – Perducet”. Father Coleman used these and the very special Chalice and Ciborium for the Nuptial Mass which followed the Marriage Ceremony.
How really splendid our magnificent heritage Chapel looks on these occasions,
and how proud we Sacré Coeur Alumnae are of it and the wonderful treasures it
houses, many from France dating back to the 1800’s.
