News from the President
Well a very happy New Year to each and everyone of you. With all the
disasters going on in the world at the moment it is a great moment for
us all to share and care for each other. The community spirit in country
Victoria’s bushfires is a remarkable image for us all to contemplate
and admire. We are all here to help each other and very lucky to have
such a great organisation to support this.
We have just had our first very interesting committee meeting for 2009.We
are at last conquering the enormous Data base problem with the assistance
of our younger more computer literate committee and the KRB Development
Office. The object is to send a Alumna Newsletter at least once a term
with all our news by email. We need you to send details of any changes
to any of your addresses to devassist@krb.nsw.edu.au .Please do not phone.
Also any relevant news to be emailed to the same address.
Our first Function will be our Annual Card Day on 4th May…to be
held at KRB and we want to have the Hall bursting at the seams with Alumna,
Past Parents and Friends.!!! This year we are going to have a Special
Surprise !!!! You will have to attend to see who it is !!
The next important event is the Annual Mass for the Deceased Alumna on
24th May at 10 am. Shayne Brown our immediate Past President is organising
a choir so anyone who is interested please contact Shayne through the
email above at the Development Office.
I am making a priority my contacts with the Country Members and this year
the committee will have a presence in Warren, Young, Wagga and Moree.
I will send dates on the email later….it is very important we encourage
our support to the “Bushies” and keep them all involved in
our school community.
Our big Fundraiser for the year is going to be an ART EXHIBITION by Alumna
to be held on the week-end of 23rd-25th October . The opening night Cocktail
Party on the Friday night will be lots of fun and we hope the week-end
will attract all our artistic talent to raise Funds for our Bursary.
Also a great excuse for a catch up with friends!!
I do hope you all have a safe and healthy year and please keep us informed
about your needs and news. Looking forward to catching up during the year
at least one of our functions.
Sincerely,
Jude Wyllie. (nee O’Brien)
