A Historic Chapel Wedding
12 April 2008 - Harriet Gollan and Mitchell Waugh

Sister Margaret McKay RSCJ reporting:
On Saturday 12 April 2008 Harriet Gollan (2002) married Mitchell Waugh.
Harriet and her sister, Josie (2004) are fifth generation students, being
great-great-grand-daughters of Lady Sheldon (Blanche Dalton) one of the
early pupils at Rose Bay, who began school in 1886. Her daughter, Mary
Lillian (Millie) Rex (Sheldon) attended Rose Bay from 1920 until 1927 and
Millie's daughter, Marcella Gorman (Rex) was Head Girl in 1948. Marcella's
daughter, Gay Gollan (Gorman), was Head Girl at Kincoppal-Rose Bay in 1974.
Harriet's husband, Mitchell Waugh, is the stepson of Barbara Auswild (1971)
whose daughter Elizabeth Campbell (1997) is also an alumna.

Harriet's wore the wedding veils of both her great-great-grandmothers, Lady
Sheldon (Blanche Dalton) and Jane Harris (Dalton) dated 1897 and 1871.
Before Blanche Dalton came to Rose Bay, she was travelling in Europe with
her family, who arranged to have their fourteen-year old daughter's portrait
painted in Florence. 122 years later, her great-great-grand-daughter was
photographed as a bride, with her mother, sister and grand-mother, beneath
that portrait which now hangs in the Performing Arts Centre.
