Wedding of Sally Simmons to Charles Downie
by Sister Margaret McKay rscj
Sally Simmons married Charles Downier in the Kincoppal-RoseBay Chapel.
The wedding was of particular significance as Sally and her four sisters,
who were her bridesmaids, are direct fourth generation Sacred Heart girls.
Anna,
Sally, Pippie and Penny are KRB Alumna and Kate is a Year 9 student there. Their
mother, Diana Simmons, (Druce) attended Kincoppal-Rose Bay in the 1970s;
their grandmother, Paula Druce (Ryrie) was a student at Rose Bay in the
1940s; their great-grandmother, Statia Ryrie (McKay) was the Rose
Bay Class of 1917.
The girls in the photo are, from left to right, in red, Kate, Pippie,
