Wedding of Daisy Turnbull and James Brown - 4 December, 2010
The
magnificent white marble High Altar in the Chapel was the gift
to the Chapel of Rose Bay Convent from Mr John Hughes when the
Chapel was completed in 1901 and the Tabernacle was the gift
of Mrs Hughes.
It was therefore an historic moment in a long association with
the school and the Hughes Family when their great, great, great grand-
daughter, Daisy Turnbull (KRB 2002), (daughter of Rose Bay alumna Lucy Hughes Turnbull
and Malcolm Turnbull) married James Brown on December 4th. As a
result of a sudden summer shower of rain the very special and rather
significant photos were fittingly taken on this altar more than 100 years
later.
Daisy, looking gorgeous in an embroidered lace dress with a sweeping
train and long veil, carried a bouquet of daisies.
The bridesmaids
were her school friends Melissa Chan and Maria Wang (KRB 2002) and Edwina
Jagelman who looked wonderful wearing champagne coloured satin
strapless dresses.
