Caroline Douglas to Simon O'Brien
Stuartholme Alumnae, Caroline Douglas (Stuartholme 1998) and her husband
Simon O’Brien are both Queenslanders who live in Sydney, so Caroline chose the Kincoppal Rose Bay Chapel for her wedding which had a great Sacre Coeur spirit.
There were many familiar Stuartholme faces amongst the guests including
her proud Grandmother Morna O’Rourke Douglas (Stuartholme 1951), great
aunt Annette O’Rourke Needham (Stuartholme 1950), and her cousin Lucy Needham
(Stuartholme 1986) a former teacher at Barat Burn.
Sister Mary Shanahan RSCJ had a wonderful reunion with Morna and Annette
(see photos) who she was at school with and Susie Douglas, the Mother
of the Bride.
Beautiful bride Caroline made a stunning appearance in a gorgeous Colette
Dinnigan dress with a strapless beaded top and soft silk georgette skirt,
as she alighted from her “chariot of choice” a blue and white wagon which had special significance for she and Simon.
A bevy of pretty bridesmaids Stephanie Sinton, Elly Daley, Alexandra
Jones and Helen Douglas (Stuartholme) and a sweet flowergirl escorted
the bride.
Proud Father Dr Alexander Douglas (a Qld MP), led his beautiful daughter
down the aisle to Handel’s Music “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba”,
which sounded truly splendid on the newly restored French Puget Organ
