"Sacré-Coeur Association of New South Wales Inc"Bowraville project: Bowraville Photo Gallery Penny Sturrock's Bowraville report - March 2007 St Mary’s Primary School Bowraville “Bloom where you are
planted” - The school is planning major refurbishments and a main focus will be
the “kitchen” as the community “heart” of the
school. A major reason for nearly 100% school attendance is the “meal”
programme that the school undertakes, making sure that the children have
access to nutritional meals at breakfast and lunch with snacks at regular
intervals throughout the day. The kitchen also provides a facility for
older students to undertake practical lessons that integrate nutrition,
maths, home science and language as well as the opportunity to prepare
and eat a “home cooked” meal. In 2006 5 Senior KRB students joined the “team” as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. Our KRB students from Bowraville (Zaylia and Carina in yr9 and Taylor in Yr8) will be in leadership positions at this year’s camp and other KRB students will also assist. An invitation is extended to all Alumnae, particularly those with interests or experience in Sport/Health Sciences who are interested in supporting the program. In due course it is hoped that the Universities will credit the work done by students at the camp.
