WARREN REGIONAL MEETING - SUNDAY 31 MAY 2009 by Maureen Brett
It was my very great pleasure to represent the President of the Sacré-Coeur
Alumnae Committee, Jude Wylie at the Warren Regional Meeting on 31 May.
The Principal, Mrs Hilary Johnson Croke, supported by Mary Cooke (development
office) and Jill Miller (boarder mistress) hosted the Meeting at the
historic “Overflow” Warren, the home of John and Toni McKay. Sister
Marg McKay was there in her Father’s
ancestral home to assist proceedings and make it a wonderful event.
It was a most successful and enjoyable day with about 50 Parents, Future
Parents and Alumnae and families attending a Presentation on the School,
by Hilary followed by lunch in the marquee on the lawn.
The atmosphere was very relaxed and convivial and of course a great
get together for all the western area Sacré-Coeur family with a lot of
chat, laughs and memories. There were many Alumnae from a wide area such
as Walgett Gulargambone and Dubbo and the local Warren contingent all
expressing their delight at a Meeting so close to their homes.
As well as collecting as many email addresses as possible for the data
system, I spoke about the main objectives of the Sacré-Coeur Alumnae
this year i.e. The Kincoppal Centenary celebrations, the Art Show and
of course our main financial objective, the Bursary Fund.
There was
great support and appreciation for all our activities and it was very
clear that all the Alumnae in this area really like to be part of the
Sacre Coeur family and wish their families to be educated at Kincoppal-Rose
Bay.
