The Convent School was founded in 1903, in Bourke Street,
Darlinghurst, on the site where St. Margaret's Hospital now stands.

In 1909 the school moved to Elizabeth Bay, Kincoppal having
been left to Mother Maria Hughes by her father, Mr. John Hughes, who
died in 1885.

The Religious of the Sacred Heart welcomed their first
pupils at Kincoppal at Elizabeth Bay in 1909.
To celebrate this special anniversary, we invite the entire
Kincoppal-Rose Bay community - rscj, alumnae, past and present parents,
staff and students - to join in our celebration.
We will honour and acknowledge our educators and remember
the special place that it was to so many and its important part of Kincoppal-Rose
Bay’s combined history.
The celebration will be held on Sunday, 30 August 2009
commencing at 1.30pm
Beautifully sung Mass in the Kincoppal-Rose Bay Chapel,
followed by viewing of the Kincoppal archives and a formal High Tea.
There will be an opportunity to appreciate the accompaniment provided
by the newly restored Puget Organ.
